My 2019 began with a lavish trip to Malta, where I had the pleasure to discover and review some of the best hotels and restaurants in the island. My first (and very pleasant) stop has been to The Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa, a luxurious 5 star hotel located in San Anton area, 15 minutes away from the airport by taxi and 10-15 minutes away from Valletta city center. This area is in the center of the island, where you are able to experience more relaxed and peaceful surroundings.
Note: do not confuse The Corinthia Palace Hotel&Spa in San Anton with The Corinthia Hotel St. George Bay. These are two different hotels 🙂
THE SUITES
During my time at The Corinthia Palace in Malta, I had the immense pleasure to stay in the Executive Suite Queen. Very elegant and fully refurbished, this suite is located on the 3rd floor of the palace, with a beautiful view of San Anton area, that can be enjoyed from the very wide terrace!
This marvelous suite is divided in two areas: the wide living room upon the entrance and the bedroom area. There is a TV in each area and brand new furniture and interiors.
The spacious living room allowed me to have a phenomenal in-room service (more details to follow…).
The white marble bathroom is extremely pretty, with all body products you need and branded robes that can be used also to reach the spa areas. There is only one shower combined with the bathtub.
IN-ROOM BREAKFAST (One of the best ever!)
I have to admit that the in-room service at The Corinthia Palace has been one of the best EVER. I ordered a breakfast in my suite and I literally got a “private-buffet” in the room, full of every sort of delicatessen! Together with Louis Roderer Champagne, delicious fruit juices freshly squeezed and eggs cooked in several ways. Absolutely breakfast goals here! 🙂
I will never forget this breakfast, seriously one of the best in-room service I have ever experienced so far!
FINE DINING AT ‘VILLA CORINTHIA RESTAURANT’
The second night of my stay, I had the very big pleasure to have dinner at Villa Corinthia, one of the top fine dining restaurants in Malta, located inside the Corinthia Palace Hotel. Honestly, the location took my breath away: this beautiful villa with high ceilings and iconic decor, with big paintings on the wall and live piano music in the background… Seriously a dream! Perfect for a romantic date!
During the dinner, the Chef selected the dishes for us, in order to let us try different local flavors. I had the pleasure to meet the Chef in person, who explained me the importance of using local products as much as possible. I really appreciated it indeed!
Everything tasted delicious and the service has been impeccable! We had Moet&Chandon Champagne during the dinner. The live piano music made me literally dream! What a place, I can’t wait to go back!
As you can see from these very spontaneous pictures, I truly had a great evening! The atmosphere was so magical, everything was on point!
THE CAPRICE LOUNGE BAR
Together with a few restaurants, there is also the splendid ‘Caprice Lounge Bar’ where I had a few drinks before dinner. Cozy, elegant and chic, this lounge is perfect for having some drinks in style!
THE SPA & THE WELLNESS CENTER
Despite part of the big wellness center was under renovation (do not worry, I will go back to check it out once it is completed this year!), the indoor pool and jacuzzi area was so amazing! I truly enjoyed it! Moreover, I had the chance to have a phenomenal massage by one of the greatest therapists ever! I definitely would love to book another treatment with him when I will be back 🙂
I haven’t had the chance to enjoy the beautiful outdoor area as it was too chilly in the beginning of January! But again, I will go back to Malta to explore it during the warm seasons and I will give you more feedback about the new facilities and the outdoor area by then.
