The Alegra Boutique Hotel is a spectacular property I had the pleasure to discover during my last trip to Israel. This fabulous hidden gem is located in Ein Kerem area, 15 minutes by taxi from Jerusalem city center. It has been so magical and totally unexpected that I hope I will find words to describe my experience properly! The place is surely stunning, and the great positive energy of the entire staff together with the unforgettable dining experiences by Chef Yaron Winkler made my stay truly unique!
THE HOTEL
The story behind the Alegra Boutique Hotel gives already the perception of the fairy tale every guest is about to experience. It is really all about love and romance there:
The fairy tale story of Alegra Bello, a beautiful Jewish girl from Machane Yehuda and her sweetheart, Ian Jebra Francis Rahil from the village of Ein Kerem. The two eloped and secretly married in the city of Bethlehem, where she also converted into Christianity. Hearing this, Alegra’s father declared her “dead” and even sat “Shiva” and mourned her for seven days (Jewish mourning tradition).
The couple returned and settled down in Ein Kerem, where Jebra Francis built the enchanted house as a symbol of his love for Alegra.
This is true, happy ending of the modern Romeo and Juliet.
This villa is located in a wonderful neighborhood, surrounded by beautiful trees and colorful flowers.
There is also a splendid garden on the back, perfect to chill while having a glass of wine during the day and at night as well!
THE ROOMS
The lovely characteristic of this place is that every single room is different from the others and it has a specific name: each room is indeed dedicated to one famous couple, like “Frida&Diego“, for example! This detail blow my mind away 🙂
Every single room has its own style and theme, and all of them are delightfully decorated in order to provide with a special ambience to each guest.

THE SIGNATURE SUITE
Undoubtedly my favorite room at the Alegra Boutique Hotel, the Signature Suite is simply a dream. Spacious and wide, with wonderful garden view, this suite maintained the original walls of the villa, giving a unique feeling of the combination between past and modernity.
Inside the room, they provide you with every comfort: TV screen, Nespresso machine, kettle, hairdryer, mini bar and safe.
On a side note, I literally adored the bathroom in this suite: the green doors that open up onto a wide black marble bath-shower that overlooks the garden as well. So beautiful!
In the bathroom you find all kind of body products: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and great body cream!
SEASON RESTAURANT BY CHEF YARON VINKLER
To be very honest with you, I still dream every day about the delicious food I had at Alegra Boutique Hotel, passionately made by Chef Yaron Winkler. His knowledge and passion about food is so fascinating and enchanting. Not only a great Chef, but also an exquisite human being. Everything he cooked for us was seriously made in heaven.
The “Season Restaurant” is located inside the Alegra Boutique Hotel and it has a fantastic open kitchen, where Chef Yaron freshly makes every single dish, starting from the breakfast till dinner.
Everything you taste at the Season Restaurant is extremely fresh, and every product is strictly seasonal, personally selected by Chef Yaron. I truly believe that this place is A MUST while in Jerusalem, surely the best food I had there (and not only!).
This place is also available for private events and parties, click here to see their beautiful instagram page to get the vibe of the place!
I miss Chef Yaron’s food, I need to go back soon! 🙂
No matter what Cher Yaron prepares, it is always lovely presented and with an incredible taste. Every bite and every flavor are a pure bliss!
Meat, fish, vegetables, home-made bread, fresh tahini, desserts… whatever I tried was delicious beyond words. In fact, even if you are not planning to stay at the Alegra Boutique Hotel, make sure to book a dining experience at the Season Restaurant by Chef Yaron Winkler!
THE NEIGHBORHOOD: EIN KEREM
From the Alegra Boutique Hotel rooftop, every guest can enjoy the beautiful panorama, overlooking Ein Kerem – a Jerusalem neighborhood – hills and churches. This is such a vibrant and safe neighborhood where you can easily walk around and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Furthermore, in summer there is a small pool on the rooftop as well, perfect to enjoy a relaxing sunny afternoon!
I love Israel and I cannot wait to go back!
Most importantly, I cannot wait to go back to the Alegra Boutique Hotel and eating Chef Yaron’s sumlime food! 🙂
And you… Are you lusting for the sublime?
Always,
Carlotta
