This year I had the immense pleasure to finally visit the Ontario region in Canada. During my trip to Toronto I had the immense pleasure to stay a few days at the majestic Shangri-La Hotel Toronto, where I had the best time! The sublime interiors, the impeccable service (as usual at the Shangri-La Hotels actually), the perfect position in the city center and the marvelous room I had on the top floor, really made my time there absolutely unforgettable!
After being stuck in the traffic jam for ages (driving from Detroit) as soon as I got into the lobby and I saw the splendid fireplace, the stunning flowers all over, the piano music and the remarkable kindness of the entire staff, my bad mood immediately switched to happiness! 🙂
That marvelous fireplace will be always in my mind!
THE LUXURIOUS ROOMS
As soon as I got into my luxurious room (a Premier Double Room on the top floor!), I had the immense pleasure to find one of the nicest and sweetest welcome: a lovely “Welcome to Toronto” sweet-board made for me by the Head of Pastry of the Restaurant! Such a lovely touch, I will never forget it! 🙂
Together with the sweetest welcome ever, I got astonished by the view from my room. being on the top floor of the hotel I really could enjoy the best view over Toronto!
Without a doubt, the spectacular window-corner of the wide bathroom really made my day! All white marble, bathtub and separate shower, with a wonderful scenic view of the city. Wow!
Both at night as well as during the day, having a bubble bath has been surely remarkable, despite the unpleasant weather. Actually that is the best weather to enjoy a warm bath and relax! 😉
THE BOSK RESTAURANT
During my splendid stay at the Shangri-La Hotel in Toronto, I had also some remarkable food experiences at BOSK Restaurant:
Diners can expect modern Canadian cuisine made with seasonal regional ingredients and served with genuine, caring service.
I immediately liked the modern style of the bar at the entrance and the words projected on the tables near by. The extra caring service as soon as I arrived at the restaurant made me feel great! And throughout the dining experience I was very pleased by it because the waiters have been more than fantastic! Well done!
I started with a beef tartare and some oysters, in order to test the quality and the freshness of the products: everything was on point and delicious!
As mains, I ordered some gnocchi with mushrooms and a beef tenderloin: again, everything was really good, well presented, well cooked and fresh!
I couldn’t avoid to have at least a bite of the dessert (even if I do not always eat it) and it was excellent too. I would surely recommend this restaurant even if you are not staying at the hotel – the food is delicious!!! For wine/champagne lovers: the wine/champagne menu is remarkable! 😉
THE BREAKFAST @ BOSK RESTAURANT
For the hotel guests, the breakfast is served at BOSK Restaurant as well. You can choose warm dishes from à la carte menu and get some pastries, bread and fruits/nuts from the buffet. I ordered some Eggs Benedict with salmon and a divine smoothie.
Suggestion: do not forget to order at least one smoothie as they are truly amazing!
All the pastries are freshly made at the hotel and everything I tried was great.
Moreover, I really appreciated the poetry-projections on some tables! I found it so stylish and unique!
THE HEALTH CLUB & SPA
The Health Club at the Shangri-La Hotel in Toronto is the perfect oasis of relax, especially during the winter months when outside is brutally cold! This place offers gym facilities, a big swimming-pool and a smaller one, sauna and steam-bath.
My biggest highlight is the “cabanas-corner”: near the pool area there are indeed several “private cabanas” with a TV inside! You can reserve one and spend a few hours of total relax there! Adorable!
I really loved my time at the Shangri-La Hotel and I would highly recommend it for an unforgettable stay while you visit Toronto!
